• Frequently Asked Questions

What legal matters do I need to be aware of?

    • You must both be over the age of 18 years.
    • You must give the celebrant one full calendar month's notice.
    • Prior to the wedding day, you show the celebrant your Birth Certificate, (or your Passport if born overseas)
    • If there has been a previous marriage, you show the celebrant your Divorce (Decree Absolute) papers, or, if applicable, Death Certificate of a former spouse.
    • At your wedding, you have two witnesses 18 years old or more.

Exactly what do I need to do?

    • Contact me to make an appointment as soon as you have the date and venue set for the wedding. It is good to have an optional date and time available in case I am already booked for the day of your first preference.
    • If you are making a booking between one and six months before the wedding, it is good to have some flexibility in the time of day you require, otherwise you may be disappointed.
    • If we are booking well ahead of the wedding, ask me to send out all the necessary papers to you in the post. Otherwise, you can collect them when you come to meet me.
    • Make sure that you take with you to the first meeting a birth certificate and papers relating to any previous marriage.

    Where can we get married?

Anywhere at all suitable to both you and me - a wedding function center, garden, beach, park, your own home. You have complete freedom of choice.
